His Civil War pension avadavit gives June 10, 1844 as the date of birth, however the 1910 Miricode index gives 1847 for birth year and the 1900 Census gives Jun 1846. The 1930 census calculates to 1847 and his death certificate gives 10 June 1846.3,4,5,6 
He was the son of George Webb and Elizth Webb.1,2 
Name Change Between 1850 and 1860 his name was changed to Williams The use of Wlliams seemed to relate only to the 1860 and 1870 census. Otherwise he used Webb or Joseph W. Webb.7,8
